Bill and Karen Hartnett asked me to put together a video of Lexie’s years with the Bobcats—and what fun I had with it, as I figured out the structure and balance. The music is a mix, but most of the choices are Lexie’s and Bill’s. The intelligence, the humor, the candid charm—all Lexie.

I had the privilege of getting to know Lexie as her coach on a Fairport Little League Fastpitch softball team. She was a quiet and shy young girl but I quickly realized that she had great athletic talent, paid attention, and, with just a little bit of coaxing, was willing to play at whatever position we asked her to play to help the team. What really made her special however was that she was a great person and a great teammate – even as an 11 or 12 year old. In my opinion, while Ohio University provided Lexie with a wonderful opportunity, I will suggest that Ohio University and her teammates have been provided a greater opportunity by having had the experience of playing with and getting to know this terrific human being. What a wonderful video about a simply wonderful young woman. Thank you for sharing it.

Hey John, thanks for carrying on the tradition!! Katie was always embarrassed by my antics, but I just couldn’t resist. As a Dad, it’s always fun messing with the kids!
